While the cabins are not plush, they are not as rustic as many cabins in the northwoods. The beds in general are comfortable (we have stayed in 6 of the cabins over the years and the more expensive ones do have more comfortable beds but they all are decent). It's terrific to have a fully equipped kitchen as well as a grill.
We have stayed at Driftwood lodge every summer for 10 years now - we have stayed with our two kids and some summers my parents have joined us as well. The cabins will accomodate any size group from a couple to a large family or friend gathering. The lake is beautiful and has good fishing from what I've heard although we are not fisherman and come to swim, kayak, bike and relax. The pool is kept warm, the kayaks are free for any guests to use and the playground is nice for littler kids. There is really something for everyone here.
Our favorite thing is to see how far we are into our weeklong vacation before the kids notice there's no tv. Some years it's been almost the whole week. They are so busy swimming, catching frogs, collecting kindling for the campfire, playing with the other kids at the resort that they don't even miss the tv.
Fun very relaxing. Still trying to figure out where the walleyes are.
We highly recommend Driftwood for families esp ones who like to swim, fish, enjoy the outdoors and relax.
We love how "in the woods" we feel at Driftwood but also love that we are only a 10 minute drive from Walmart (for those forgotten items) and restaurants (for the times when you don't want to cook). Grocery stores are also about a 10-15 minute drive.
